Nights of Fright® at Sunway Lagoon is back for its 11th year, bigger, darker, scarier and more fun than ever. From 26 September to 2 November 2025, every Friday, Saturday and Sunday night, the Puppetmaker takes the stage, pulling the strings of Malaysia’s ultimate festival of fear.
What began in 2013 as Malaysia’s first large-scale Halloween event has grown into a must-visit attraction in Sunway City Kuala Lumpur, drawing visitors from across the country and beyond. Over the past decade, Nights of Fright® has terrified more than a million visitors and secured Sunway Lagoon’s place as home to the nation’s largest and longest-running fright festival with the most haunted attractions in Southeast Asia!

This year takes it up a step further, featuring a line-up of 7 brand new haunted attractions along with 2 event favourites, and ensuring guests encounter cool new fun fresh horrors at every turn. With exciting fresh Malaysian, Regional, Hollywood, and Global themes, across character-driven storylines, immersive set designs and environments that push the boundaries of imagination, Nights of Fright® 11 guarantees a scream-filled experience unlike anything Malaysia and the region has seen before.
A nightmarish launch and a lasting legacy

The festival opened with a spine-chilling spectacle as this year’s haunting icons, The PUPPETMAKER, and the HANTUTU – The Hantu with a Tutu! Accompanied by special guests Hantu Kum Kum, Poh Kong (who all arrived in an extravagant pink hearse), accompanied by Ms. Michelle Soong, Assistant General Manager of Marketing & Business Development at Sunway Theme Parks and Mr. Lynton V Harris, Founder, Global Creative Director, and CEO of The Sudden Impact! Entertainment Company, and who serves as the Creative Director of Nights of Fright®.
The launch unfolded with a haunting ballerina performance and the ceremonial turning of the “Puppetmaker’s Key”, which opened a giant music box and set off a cascade of eerie pink fireworks across the night sky. VIP partners then walked the Pink Path of Strings to officiate the opening before guests entered the park for the grand reveal of the world’s first life-sized Blind Box haunted attraction, an exclusive new haunted experience for 2025 featuring the terrifying yet strangely adorable Hantutu that taps into the current global zeitgeist of collectable toys.
But this dramatic start was more than just a showpiece. It was also a powerful reminder of how far Nights of Fright® has come since its debut in 2013 and how it has grown into a cultural phenomenon that continues to shape Malaysia’s tourism and entertainment landscape.
Over the past eleven years, this multi-award-winning festival has welcomed more than one million visitors, including international fans who now plan their travels around the event calendar. As Malaysia’s largest and longest-running Halloween festival, Nights of Fright® has positioned Sunway City Kuala Lumpur as a regional hub for themed entertainment. It brings together thrill-seekers, families and tourists, blending local folklore with global horror culture in ways that resonate across generations.

“Nights of Fright has grown into so much more than just a Halloween festival; it has become a stage where Malaysia’s culture meets global horror, creating experiences that are both unique and unforgettable,” said Ms. Michelle Soong, Assistant General Manager of Marketing and Business Development at Sunway Theme Parks. “What makes us proud is knowing that the festival doesn’t just deliver thrills, it also drives tourism, nurtures local talent and strengthens
Sunway City Kuala Lumpur’s position as one of Asia’s most exciting destinations.” Each year, the event drives tourism with increased demand for hotels, dining, and transport across Sunway City Kuala Lumpur, while also creating hundreds of jobs for performers, crew members, and creative professionals.
“From the very beginning, Nights of Fright was designed to be more than just jump scares – it’s about storytelling, atmosphere and creating worlds where folklore and imagination collide,” said Mr. Lynton V Harris, Founder, Global Creative Director, and CEO of The Sudden Impact! Entertainment Company, and who serves as the Creative Director of Nights of Fright®. “Eleven years later, we have the most haunted attractions in S.E.Asia, and it’s amazing to see how this vision has grown into a festival that not only thrills audiences but also stands as the undisputed benchmark for live scare entertainment in the region.”
By blending Malaysia’s passion for thrills and horrors with iconic local folklore and global horror legends, Nights of Fright® delivers a fusion of cultural storytelling and world-class scare design that is unlike anything else in the region. This distinctive blend celebrates local heritage while captivating international audiences, elevating Malaysia’s standing in live entertainment and setting a standard that has inspired similar events across Asia.
