Sexual predators have made all kinds of excuses for their disgusting actions when they face a judge, and even though most receive the punishment they deserve, their victims are often scarred for life.
According to Malay Mail, a 42-year-old man from Singapore has been charged in High Court for sexually assaulting his 8-year-old stepdaughter. He initially intended to plead guilty but the plea was turned down by the judge when he blamed his actions on the victim, and now he faces an even more serious charge.
The man alleged that his 8-year-old daughter had led him on – even claiming he had rejected her, and that she had placed his hands on her private parts.

Despite this, he still wanted to plead guilty as he felt the case had been prolonged for too long and caused him and his family to become stressed. “Only God can help me now,” he said.
According to Deputy Public Prosecutor Kavita Uthrapathy, the accused had started sexually assaulting his stepdaughter in January 2015, nearly two years after he had married her biological mother in April 2013.
Initially, the accused limited himself to touching the victim’s private parts over her clothes, but just as his “lust for his stepdaughter grew”, so did the severity of the various sex acts he committed,Ā according to Today Online.
Ms Kavita told the court that the victim slept in the same room as the accused, her mother and her step-siblings, where the accused would commit the acts on his stepdaughter while she was in bed with her mother.

This went on until October 2016 when the victim’s biological father noticed that his daughter was always reluctant to go home to where the accused was staying. He always thought that it was because his daughter wanted to spend more time with him, but started suspecting something was wrong when she became hysterical when it was time for her to go home on 17th October 2016.
She eventually told him about the things her stepfather had been doing to her, after which her biological father filed a police report.Ā The court was told that she is now living with her biological father and his wife.
The accused definitely deserves a more serious charge after claiming that an eight-year-old girl made sexual advances on him. Thankfully she is no longer living with him and we hope that she’ll be able to recover from this torturous episode.Ā
