While many are suffering in this pandemic, there are others who are stepping up to help however they can by setting up food banks and donating groceries to those in need.

But it isn’t just the rakyat who have been extending help to those in need, it seems as though the police have also joined efforts to do their best and feed as many as they can.

The officers from IPD Sepang took to their Facebook page to showcase how they provided food to factory workers in need as a food assistance project.

They wrote, “On 3 July 2021 at about 8.10pm, the Full Manning IPD Sepang (FM) received a phone call from a woman to inform us that her sibling, who is a factory worker in Bandar Baru Salak Tinggi, had run out of food.”

According to their post, the woman’s sibling was apparently put under quarantine in a house in Taman Bunga Raya, Sepang, with 13 of her co-workers.

“Acting on the information on the basis of concern and social responsibility, Sepang District Police Chief, YDH ACP Wan Kamarul Azran bin Wan Yusof followed up by ordering food aid to be sent to the house immediately,”

“On 3 July 2021 at approximately 9.15pm, the staff of the Sepang IPD MPV Unit (SL 1211) arrived at the house and handed over 16 packets of rice to the occupants. The recipients’ representative thanked the Sepang IPD police for their assistance,” they added.

While our fellow Malaysians are going hungry throughout this pandemic, we’re thankful that so many have stepped up to provide help where they can afford to.

Together, we can help make this pandemic bearable for the underprivileged.
