Earlier, a social media user voiced frustration over a Johor petrol station that was allegedly seen removing several RON95 nozzles.
Many netizens quickly speculated that the move was meant to limit RON95 sales to Malaysian-registered vehicles and not those from Singapore, as reported by Berita Harian.

KPDN dismissed the allegations
The Johor Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) has responded to the claims, denying that a petrol station along Jalan Pasir Pelangi removed its fuel nozzles because it ran out of RON95 petrol.
Johor KPDN director Lilis Saslinda Pornomo said the nozzles were taken off after a leak was detected in the station’s main underground storage tank.
“According to the station manager, several RON95 nozzles were removed due to the leak. In total, eight nozzles from pumps 3, 4, 7, 8, 11, 12, 13, and 14 were affected. A report on the issue was also submitted to KPDN Putrajaya last July,” she told Berita Harian.

“Eight other pumps are still operating normally”
Enforcement officers launched an investigation at 2 PM yesterday (5 October) after a public complaint went viral on social media.
Lilis Saslinda explained that the nozzles were removed to prevent confusion among customers who might think the RON95 supply had run out, when it was actually due to a technical issue with the underground tank.
“The public need not worry, as eight other pumps (numbers 1, 2, 5, 6, 9, 10, 15, and 16) are still operating as usual, and the sale of RON95 continues,” she said.
