Ever since the MCO, a lot us have turned into professional online shoppers and we’re currently all very up-to-date with the latest promotions and products.

In China, a pair of grey/brown contact lenses with some crescent patterns have been going viral as they have said that it can turn you into a “goddess” after you wear it, as mentioned on Weibo.

Netizens were of course very intrigued and many people bought it to try it out. Instead of magically turning into goddesses, the women looked cross-eyed instead.

It is said that the contact lenses looked good the moment you put them on, however, after you blink a few times and roll your eyes around, the contact lenses will move and it results in the following look.

Well, this definitely looked good as a concept but it kind of failed in the execution. A classic case of expectations versus reality.

So if you want to hop on a viral trend and you’re thinking of purchasing an item, maybe you should read up on the reviews first before going on impulse and purchasing it right away without a thought. Your bank account and the future you will be thankful.

What other purchase fails have you seen recently? We have seen lots and the one below is one that definitely made us facepalm!
