But for one uncle, he has gone through great lengths to ensure his 93-year old mother and sister are being taken care of, despite him losing his job as a dishwasher. His story was shared by Hopes In Meals on Facebook in which it was revealed that he chose to starve himself to feed his family.

His neighbours alerted the NGO of his condition after they saw him looking very pale at a bus stop. He also has resorted to collecting cans and other recyclables but can only sell them on 2nd June after the Circuit Breaker ends.

Uncle also explained that he did receive some funds from the government but he has passed all the money to his sister to watch over his mother. Uncle revealed that he will sometimes only drink water to suppress his hunger to save more money for the mother.

For many of us, we are often blinded by our own misfortunes but if we take some time to look at those around us, we will see that there are those who can’t even pay for food. If you have a little extra, do share your blessings with others. A little help can go a long way for those who are in desperate need of help. So please be kind. Let’s take care of each other, ok?
