It’s always heartwarming to watch videos of elderly couples enjoying each other’s company. You can’t help but wonder how they make their relationship last and keep the spark alive after all these years.
@rbmhds reached out to WORLD OF BUZZ to to share a story about an elderly man she encountered at the CS Taman Tun Perak Supermarket in Cheras.
In the video, the elderly man can be seen trying to decide which ice cream to choose.
At first, Ruby assumed he was picking out ice cream for his grandchildren. However, when she approached him, he revealed that he was actually choosing ice cream for his wife.
Ruby explained that she was accompanying her mother for grocery shopping that day. She added,
“When I encountered the gentleman, he greeted me with a smile, and I couldn’t help but find him charming.”
Later, she noticed the man in the ice cream section. His adorable confusion while choosing reminded her of her grandfather, who used to buy snacks for them every Sunday when she was a child.
The old man shared with Ruby how he was struggling to pick an ice cream for his wife, who’s not feeling well and can’t walk anymore.
“My wife is sick. She can’t walk anymore.”
Ruby then shared how deeply touched she was and how she almost teared up, realising that there are still good men out there in this generation.
“Taking care of an ill person, especially when you’re unwell yourself, is no easy feat. Despite his age, the uncle displayed no regrets or sadness; instead, he exuded charm and explained things to me with positivity.” she added.
Ruby goes on to express her admiration for the elderly man’s resilience, sincerely hoping that he is granted more strength to continue caring for his dear wife, especially since the couple doesn’t have any children.
