With only pictures for memories, an elderly aunty is yearning to see her 2 children again after they were separated for a whopping 55 years.
She is now making efforts to track them down.
According to a report by Berita Harian, 86-year-old Che’ah Awang shared her efforts to find her 67-year-old son, Muhammad Zain Sallah as well as her daughter, though she does not remember her real name and age after her daughter was taken by her mother-in-law immediately after her birth.
“After my ex-husband and I divorced, my son was taken care of by my adoptive mother while my daughter was taken care of by my mother-in-law. Since then, I have never seen my children again. I moved to Singapore and then England in 1973 for work. While there, my son sent me a picture of the 2 siblings,”
“In the same year, my son contacted me by phone to ask how I was and asked for my blessing to get married. He also told me that his sister misses me and wants to see me, however, I lost the address and phone number that I wrote down on a piece of paper,” she shared.
She later returned to Malaysia in 2012 and settled in Taiping.
Now, after 55 years of separation, she hopes that children will hear of her search for them.
“I only have a black-and-white picture of them as a reference. I want to see and hug them before I close my eyes forever,” she said tearfully.
She also revealed that she was contacted by several individuals last year, claiming to know both of her children.
“Each individual refused to tell me my son’s whereabouts but instead asked me to transfer money to their bank accounts first. I don’t believe it and am sure they are trying to take the opportunity to deceive me,” she added.
We genuinely hope that Che’ah will be reunited with her children soon!
