If you’re on any social media platform, you would have chanced upon videos of teachers interacting with their students.

Some of these videos show the students’ faces clearly while others don’t, however, we should always remember that it is very dangerous to reveal where a child goes to school as it puts their security at risk.

When asked about it after an event with Sinar Harian, Minister of Education, Fadhlina Sidek said that teachers who use students as social media content will face actions from the Ministry of Education (MOE).

The minister said that MOE will not compromise against anyone who goes against the guidelines involving students on social media.

“If the guidelines are not followed and there are complaints, actions will be taken.”

Other than that, Sinar Harian also reports that the Majlis Permuafakatan Persatuan Ibu Bapa dan Guru Nasional (PIBGN), has received at least one complaint a day about teachers who are using their children to make content in school.

With children’s safety at stake, we certainly think that this is a good idea. What are your thoughts on this? Let us know in the comments below.
