“No one is useless in this world who lightens the burdens of another.”- Charles Dickens.
Malaysia’s favourite celebrity preacher, Ustaz Ebit Lew, is back again with his generosity. This time around, he took the opportunity to help out a 32-year-old disabled woman (OKU) to find a home to live in.
The woman, Sarah Kalaivani, who suffers from a borderline personality disorder and rheumatoid arthritis has been struggling to find a place to settle down for a very long time.
However, thanks to Ebit Lew, a huge burden has been lifted off her shoulders.
Ebit Lew took to his Facebook to share Sarah’s story and expressed his sympathy towards the woman.
In his post he wrote:
“Been in a melancholy mood the whole day. Helped an Indian woman, Sarah Kalaivani a/p Pupalan, 32 tahun. She owns an OKU card. She’s Christian and has a borderline personality disorder and rheumatoid arthritis. She lost her home and now lives alone. She’s been moving around from place to place.
She has been mistreated and beaten down by people. When we met just now, it felt sad. Because Sarah Kalaivani is very nice but is really struggling. Always receiving monthly treatments at PPUM. She even tried requesting help from JKM but still has not gotten it. She also tried to request a PPR DBKL home but has also yet to get it.”
He continues to describe Sarah as “a gentle type and good person” and explained that she has been previously working as an admin staff at Shell by contract. Before falling sick, Sarah used to be a part-time model as well.
“Sarah broke down into tears when I provided her a place to stay and offered to pay for her monthly rent regularly. Just now, I managed to take her shopping for clothes and other household necessities. I even got her a TV as a gift.”
Ebit lew added that while searching for homes, they had some food by the bus stop and he even gave her some pocket money. He said that Sarah is currently looking for an admin job or a job that allows her to work from home.
“Just now I got to see her resume and certificates. May everything be at ease for her.”
Ebit Lew’s post garnered over 1,900 shares, 77,000 likes and 1,800 comments at the time of writing, all of which showed netizens praising him for being such a kind soul.
We too hope that things will get better for Sarah. Thank you Ebit Lew for helping those who are struggling and being a reminder to all of us to do our part in helping those in need.
