It’s never easy to deal with a loss, especially when it involves loved ones. Just last week, despite his brave attempt, a father in Sabah couldn’t save his 2-year-old son from being taken away by a crocodile.
To date, the rescue team has yet to recover the body of the boy, and the heartbreaking news has gained the attention of so many Malaysians who expressed their sympathy towards the father who risked his life just to save his son. Local preacher and activist, Ebit Lew decided to pay the father a visit and help him in any way he could, as shown via his Instagram post.
Ebit Lew, who has been in Jakarta, Indonesia for the past few days flew all the way to Sabah to visit the father. What the brave father had to tell broke the preacher’s heart, and it may just break yours too.
“I haven’t found my son. He hasn’t returned home.”
One can only imagine the inexpressible pain that the father had to endure watching his son being taken away by the reptile.
The man told Ebit Lew that his son was his companion everywhere as they spent most of their time together. The preacher also highlighted a father’s undying love by saying how the man risked his life to look for his son in the water, despite the lurking danger.
“That’s the love of a father who is willing to give his life away just for his child.”
Of course, Ebit Lew did not visit the man empty-handed. He gave the mourning father some cash and a brand-new boat before praying for him, followed by some motivational words to keep the man going.
Ebit’s gifts sent the father into tears, and many Malaysians also expressed their heartbreak.
“2-year-old? My 3 y/o does not even understand the meaning of danger. I can only imagine the video of his child being taken away by the crocodile.”
“Thank you for helping this man. I couldn’t sleep that day after watching the video. May God ease things for this man.”
“His tears have dried up, but his heart breaks.”
Our condolences to the man who recently lost his son in the tragic incident, and thank you Ebit Lew for always showing up and helping the less fortunate.
