Five individuals have been arrested over the transport of marijuana through a delivery worker on Monday (14 April). The two packets of drugs had been hidden in between two pieces of roti canai in the package.
In a five-hour operation starting at 8.30pm on 14 April, the police arrested three men, including a private college student, and two women in Setiawangsa and Bangsar, reported Astro Awani.
Gombak district police chief ACP Arifai Tarawe said the 19-year-old private college student, who ordered the food pack, was found to be drug-positive.
“Two more men were detained at a house in Bangsar on suspicion of supplying drug packages to college students,” he said.
“Also arrested during the operation were two women aged 63 and 70, who were in the house, for further investigation.”
Arifai added that he also found several small plastic packages containing suspected marijuana at the Bangsar house.
“Further investigation is being conducted into the case,” he said, adding that the case was being investigated under Section 39B of the Dangerous drugs Act 1952.
