Authorities are urged to take immediate action after several cars were seen driving against traffic to avoid going through a roadblock.

A video posted on Facebook page, Info Roadblock JPJ/POLIS, shows a long queue of vehicles on the Tun Dr Lim Chong Eu Highway just before the Penang Bridge.

Several drivers who seemingly didn’t want to wait in line decided to make an illegal U-turn and drive against traffic on the adjacent lane. Some cars even decided to turn around on the spot after seeing the long queue.

This video is a great example of the saying “Monkey see, monkey do” because the more cars made that illegal U-turn, the more others decided to follow.

It is uncertain if any accidents took place but such actions are strongly discouraged as it poses danger to other motorists on the road. We hope the authorities will look into this matter soon, and in the meantime, please continue to stay safe!
