A Chinese primary school in Port Dickson recently faced backlash after the Jalur Gemilang was accidentally hung upside down by a disabled (OKU) worker.
UMNO Youth Chief Dr Akmal Saleh commented on the incident, which led DAP Socialist Youth (DAPSY) to accuse him of being “inconsistent and hypocritical” over the flag issue. In response, he fired back, saying, “Please give them a mirror and an OKU card too.”

“Dr Akmal’s behaviour is a stain on his position”
DAP Socialist Youth (DAPSY) has since called for Dr Akmal Saleh to step down over his use of the phrase, which they viewed as an insult aimed at DAP Youth during a political attack.
Earlier, WORLD OF BUZZ reported that DAPSY demanded Akmal’s resignation, stressing that they have zero tolerance for leaders who resort to hateful and discriminatory language for political points.
“His actions show that he has no place in the future of national politics. Dr Akmal’s behaviour tarnishes his position and betrays the people he claims to represent. We stand firm in our call for his immediate resignation as UMNO Youth Chief,” they said.
Akmal responded on Facebook, hitting back at DAPSY and clarifying that his remark was directed at them, and not the OKU community.

“It’s important for Malaysians to understand Malay”
Akmal also took aim at one DAPSY leader in particular, Yap Yee Vonne, by stressing the importance of understanding Bahasa Melayu, suggesting that they had misunderstood what he meant.
“Just so DAPSY knows, my statement was aimed at giving a ‘mirror’ and an OKU card to DAPSY, not the OKU community, okay?” he wrote.
Akmal also pointed out that DAPSY’s misunderstanding led them to “talk nonsense.”
“When you donāt understand but pretend you do, you end up talking nonsense like this, DAPSY. Next time, go learn proper Malay if you want to be a leader in this country, okay? If not, youāll end up looking really clueless. It’s embarrassing that you can’t even understand a simple sentence.”
