We don’t think it needs to be reminded again of the second wave of Covid-19 outbreak that hangs above our heads like a dark cloud. The number of cases in Malaysia seems to be increasing and many other nations are reporting increased cases as well. The authorities and health officials are doing their best to curb the panic and making sure if anyone exhibits the coronavirus symptoms, they’re immediately put in quarantine.
Now, an employee at Disneyland Paris has just been tested positive for the coronavirus but the park will remain open for its visitors. NY Post reported that the maintenance worker had already been on sick leave for several days and was only confirmed with the virus last Sunday, 8th of March 2020.
Park officials told that the worker is currently being treated in the hospital and three colleagues who were in close contact with him have also been quarantined. The officials further insisted that the infected staff only worked overnight and was never in contact with the public. The decision to keep the park open comes as a surprise as its Asian counterparts in Shanghai, Hong Kong and Tokyo had all been closed during the outbreak.
With 1,191 cases being reported and 21 deaths, the situation is quite worrying in France. The French park officials reassured that the situation is being closely monitored and they have even enforced extra cleaning of the park to keep visitors safe.
With a park that receives thousands of visitors every day we’re not sure how wise it is to keep the park open even after a case being reported. To be safe, just try to avoid any crowded places and practice good hygiene!
