Living with a disability definitely has its ups and downs. Despite the hurdles one may face, there are occasional silver linings that can make life a bit easier. One such advantage is having access to free parking spots.
In a recent viral story making the rounds online, user @Vandeeta3 expressed his confusion by sharing a tweet about receiving a parking ticket.
The man reveals how he had got summoned for parking his vehicle in a designated parking spot without making payment.
The caption states,
“They are incredibly quick to issue summons. Didn’t they see the OKU card on my dashboard? They’ve summoned me for failing to pay for parking in a designated parking bay.”
“Don’t OKU holders have the right to free parking?”
The confusion left the man wondering whether OKU cardholders are entitled to free parking. In the thread, he even provided evidence of his OKU card and OKU sticker in response to someone questioning whether he had them.
He disclosed that not only did he put his OKU card on the dashboard, but he also had an OKU sticker on his windshield.
Netizens started flooding the comment section to share their thoughts on the whole situation
“Usually, it’s the newbies handing out tickets like this. They’re eager, especially when they’re just starting out. There’s no point getting upset with them.”
“You should consider getting the OKU sticker from the Municipal Council to make it official. Without it, they might not take notice. But I’m not sure if just any OKU sticker will do.”
“Sometimes they don’t even bother to physically check your car. They simply identify your plate number from a distance and input it into their system. If you haven’t paid for parking, they’ll immediately issue a summons. I’ve encountered this myself.”
