Look, we’ve said it over and over again if you are not disabled or in need of a disabled person’s parking spot, then don’t use it.

Malaysians, despite the repetitive reporting on social media urging people to be a little more empathetic towards those less fortunate than us, seem to always miss the memo that OKU parking spots are not for YOU, whether or not people would use it.

Taking to social media, Ayen Razali took a stroll around the car park of a supermarket to show just how absent-minded Malaysians are by parking their motorbikes on the yellow line surrounding designated OKU parking spots meant to give room for those with wheelchairs to move in and out of their vehicles.

In his status, he writes, “The yellow lines surrounding OKU parking bays have been taken over by motorcyclists.”

“PLEASE UNDERSTAND OUR NEED!”

Shared by almost 280 netizens, the plight for a more understanding Malaysia was heard by many who suffer the same fate when it comes to OKU parking bays.

Many directed their anger to the inability of the supermarket security to take control.

Surely not only the security guards are to blame but also all those people who simply cannot think about others but themselves.

In frustration, Ayen finished his video by saying, “All yellow spaces are taken over by motorcycles. I don’t know what else to say about this.”

Let’s hope that with this revelation, more people out there will simply be a little more mindful of others, especially to those who are less fortunate than us.
