Disney recently released their highly anticipated live action version of The Little Mermaid with a star-studded cast.

Among them is the insanely hilarious Nora Lum, or more famously known as Awkwafina, who plays the self-proclaimed expert in human culture seagull Scuttle.

But, did you know that Awkwafina apparently LIVED IN Kuala Lumpur? She revealed this during a promotional video with TGV Cinemas for the premiere of The Little Mermaid, alongside her co-star, Jacob Tremblay.

In the video, she started off my saying, “Hi Malaysia, I love you and I miss you,” which was sort of a dead giveaway but then again, that could have been because she was in Malaysia to shoot the movie, Crazy Rich Asians, some time back.

“I hope you go check out our movie at TGV. I used to go watch movies there, man. It’s a good place,” Awkwafina added, shocking someone who was behind the scenes.

“Oh, really?” the person asked.

“Yeah, when I lived in KL, yeah,” she responded.

While there isn’t any other information on this online, Sinar Daily reported that Awkwafina had previously expressed her love for Roti Canai and has placed Kuala Lumpur on her list of her favourite food cities.
