Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) enforcement officers are well-known for keeping the city clean and orderly, but did you know they also have a cycling patrol unit to help monitor key areas around Kuala Lumpur?
Since its launch on 9 October 2017, the DBKL Enforcement Cycling Patrol Unit has been carrying out patrols on bicycles, helping with monitoring and enforcement, and making sure the city’s Blue Line cycling routes stay safe and free from any obstacles.

DBKL’s Cycling Patrol Unit monitors public issues like homelessness, littering, and more!
In a Facebook post, DBKL shared that regular patrols help them keep a close eye on things to ensure comfort and safety for everyone.
“Their main duties include making sure the Blue Line cycling routes in the city centre stay safe and free from obstacles. Regular patrols let us monitor more closely and keep users safe and comfortable,” the post read.
The post also mentioned that the unit patrols the River of Life (ROL) areas, monitoring urban issues like homelessness, littering, pet management, and vandalism.

The city council noted that the unit often joins forces with other DBKL departments and agencies to patrol public parks, making sure recreational areas stay safe, clean, and comfortable.
They’re also actively involved in community service programmes, helping to build stronger connections between DBKL and the public.
“While their work may seem modest, every pedal stroke reflects their dedication to keeping Kuala Lumpur safe, clean, and livable for everyone,” the city council added.
