Walking down rows of shops, you often see mannequins modeling the store’s latest fashion or merchandise.
But what would you do if you get tricked by one?
Recently, a video went viral on TikTok showcasing a delivery rider having a different encounter with mannequins.
As the abang rider reached a neighbourhood, he approached a couple of guards chilling in a “pondok” to ask for directions to house No.7. But he got no response. He then repeated himself and got annoyed when they still weren’t responding.
After getting a closer look at the hut, he realised how he had actually attempted to converse with a couple of mannequins dressed as guards!
This video has garnered over 224k views along with almost 5k likes at the time of writing.

Turns out the rider wasn’t the only one who was fooled by these “models of protection”. Many others commented after watching the video.
Here’s what netizens said:
“hahaha I got fooled once before. This is at Alam Damai, Cheras.”
“hahaha, at least you were fooled once. My friend from JB faced this twice. Upon asking many times and being ignored, he got annoyed and later found out the “guards” were fake!”
“Previously I had a friend living there, I was fooled as well!”
“Same here boss, this happened to me also”, said another ‘victim’.
“hahaha someone else was fooled too, I thought I was the only one”.
Someone left their scarecrow behind dressed as guards and it is working. Sometimes it’s nice to use the good old ways!
