Defence Minister: KLIA Cargo Workers Will Be Isolated Following Rise in Covid-19 Cases in Kaya Cluster

In his live press conference today, Defence Minister, Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob announced that MAS cargo workers in Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) will be undergoing an isolation program.

This is after an increase of positive Covid-19 cases in the Kaya Cluster involving MAS cargo workers. Based on the risk assessment performed by the Ministry of Health, this isolation will involve 360 cargo workers that have tested negative for Covid-19 and do not pose any symptoms.

This isolation will start tomorrow (26 November) and will end on 9 December. These workers will be staying in Tune Hotel Aeropolis KLIA, under strict SOPs with supervision from MOH, MKN and PDRM authorities.

As of 24 November, the Kaya Cluster has recorded 17 new positive cases where the index cases is an individual returning from Sabah on 13 November. 20 individuals are still awaiting their test results.
