An incident at an MRT station went viral in Singapore recently after an individual was seen in a video trying to push the sliding door of the train open while it was moving.

The person has since been identified as Vanessa Wang Zi Qi, a 47-year-old man, though the video showed him wearing feminine clothes, including a strap black top and a pink skirt.

As The Straits Times reported, the incident occurred on November 27 at Braddell station, where he tried to push open the MRT door while it was moving on the North-South Line.

Other commuters can be heard yelling at the person to stop, with one eyewitness saying that the door budged and briefly opened a crack before other commuters stopped him.

The man has since been charged in a Singapore district court with 2 counts of being a public nuisance and 1 count of assault.

He had also been ordered to be remanded at the Institute of Mental Health for a medical examination.

The video showed only one of the incidents that the man was charged with, whereby just two days after the incident shown in the video, Wang did something similar at Ang Mo Kio station.

Not only that, but he also allegedly kicked a man’s leg at the station on the same day, hence the assault charge. The case will be adjourned on 21 December.
