Have you seen the ultra-popular Korean drama Crash Landing On You?
If you have not, the context is that a South Korean woman was paragliding when she crashed into a tree in North Korea.
That was the beginning of her meet-cute with the North Korean man who she ends up falling for.
Does that not sound adorable?! Alas, real life is not so romantic.
Crashing into a tree
Yesterday, a paraglider was rescued after being stuck on a tree in Bukit Kokol in Menggatal, Sabah, for 10 hours.
Although he was stuck for a decent amount of time, the 35-year-old did not have a meet-cute with anyone.
It is believed that the incident that happened at noon was caused by the victim losing control of his paragliding equipment due to strong winds.
According to The Borneo Post, fire and rescue personnel managed to bring the victim down using ropes and necessary equipment that was passed to him using a drone handled by the D’Bayu Drone Club.
Lintas fire and rescue station chief Agustavia Joe Guasi said, “We received a distress call that a paraglider got stuck on a tree, about 30 meters high.”
“The victim was brought down at around 10.13pm,” said Agustavia, adding that he was treated for his injuries at the location by EMRS personnel before he was escorted back to his homestay.
Luckily, the rescue operation ended just before midnight without any mishaps, and the victim sustained only minor injuries on his body.
We cannot imagine the stress and fear the victim must have felt being alone up there!
