A company in China has come under fire recently for installing a timer in an employee toilet.

According to Kwong Wah Daily, a set of pictures on the timer have gone viral on Weibo and netizens were outraged with the thought that the company was making sure their employees were efficient by using a timer in the toilet.

After the post had gone viral, the company then stepped forward and clarified their reason for doing so.

In a statement, they said that the timer was only installed in one toilet cubicle for the sake of a study.

The study was essential as there was a limited amount of toilets in the building and due to that, employees needed to queue up to go to the toilet. However, because of the structure of the building, they were unable to build more toilets.

To determine how many portable toilets they need to order, they installed the timer to see how many times the toilet was used in a day and the duration of use.

What is your take on this if your company installed a timer in the employee toilets?
