A Yu‑Gi‑Oh! enthusiast was reportedly left in shock after a costly mistake damaged one of the game’s most coveted cards, a rare Dark Magician valued at over ~RM31,000.
The unfortunate incident, involving a Grandmaster Rare Dark Magician from the Pharaoh’s Servant set, surfaced in a brief Facebook video posted by user Xuan Zii. The clip quickly gained attention, with viewers calling it every collector’s worst fear.

According to the video’s caption, “What happened to him?”, the card owner had accidentally snipped off a small corner of the prized card while attempting to open its packaging with scissors.
The video shows the visibly distressed collector pacing between his kitchen and living room, clearly struggling to process the damage as he vents his frustration.

The RespectYGO Facebook page, which later reshared the video, noted that the card has recently been listed for more than one million yen, roughly ~RM31,500 in the Japanese market.
Online reactions poured in shortly after, with many users expressing sympathy while cautioning fellow collectors against using sharp objects when opening sealed card packs, especially when dealing with items of such high value.
