A car accident two years ago led to an unexpected relationship between a man and a woman with a 13-year age gap.
On December 8, 2023, Mr. Li got into a road accident when he hit a woman riding an electric bike at an intersection in China, causing her to fall to the ground.

The accident left her with a broken collarbone
In an interview with Xiaoxiang Morning News, 36-year-old Mr. Li said he was completely confused when the accident happened since it was his first time hitting someone.
“I didn’t know what to do when I suddenly heard the bang. I had no idea what I hit. By the time I braked, my car had already slid about 100 meters forward. I panicked and didn’t even know how to call for help. The person next to me was the one who called 120 and the traffic police,” he said.
The 23-year-old woman was taken to the hospital with a broken collarbone. He later went along with the traffic police to check on her, bringing some fruit milk before heading in.

He went to visit her every day since then
Mr. Li said he visited the girl at the hospital every single day, even bringing her breakfast and taking care of her before heading home really late.
He explained that his parents were worried about him because he had been in multiple road accidents, crashing five times in just two months.
He had only just finished paying off the compensation for those incidents when he ended up hitting the woman.

Marriage was never part of Mr. Li’s plan
After spending more than half a month together, Mr. Li was surprised by an unexpected text message on December 28, 2023, from the woman, confessing her love for him.
He admitted that marriage was never part of his plan, so he didn’t feel the same way.
Mr. Li later told the girl that he was much older than her, and even if he agreed, her parents might not approve.
However, she insisted that it was her decision to make and believed that if she liked someone, she should express her feelings boldly, regardless of the outcome.

They officially tied the knot
Mr. Li shared that one time, the girl asked him to take her to the movies. As they spent more time together, he started developing feelings for her, and they eventually got together.
Last September, the woman found out she was pregnant, and without hesitation, he started planning their wedding.
On February 6 this year, they officially tied the knot in his hometown.
