A loving father in China decided to quit his job and move 900km across the country to open a food stall because his daughter was unhappy with the food served at the university where she was studying.

According to a report by SCMP, this all started when the man’s daughter, a second-year university student, had complained about the food served at her university.

Over the year, she had constantly told her father that the food served at the university was unhygienic and did not have the “taste of home”.

Due to this, the father decided to leave his job at the barbecue restaurant where he worked and move 900km across the country, and open a food stall near his daughter’s university.

His food stall was initially not doing well

On the first day of business, he only managed to sell 7 meals, which made him less than what his daughter earns in a day of tutoring, which is about CNY70 (~RM40).

Wanting to help her father out, the daughter then shared a post in regards to her father’s food stall on social media. In her post, she highlighted how her father prepared food with cleanliness in mind and asked for advice on how to help her father improve his business.

Following the post, many people, including students and lecturers from the university, as well as nearby residents, turned up to her father’s food stall and formed a long queue.

The daughter has since started helping her father at the food stall during her free time.

A loving father-daughter relationship

The daughter shared that, since her mother died from leukaemia a few years ago, she and her father have leaned on each other. She explained how her father told her that he would follow her when she was deciding where she should go to further her studies.

“He has fulfilled his promise.”

“While many people praise a father’s love as being as stately as a mountain, for me, my father’s love is as warm as the sun,” she said.
