Vaping can be an essential tool in breaking one’s addiction to cigarette, and many have managed to quit smoking entirely after going on a vape cycle. However, neither vaping nor smoking are meant to be enjoyed by kids.
But to capitalise on the craze, companies have produced candies that mimic the act vaping at a very affordable price. Worse of all, these sweets are marketed towards children below 10. These candies have a sweet taste to them allow you to produce smoke when the powder comes in contact with saliva.
The existence of these candies was highlighted by a teacher, Mohd Fadli, who posted about it on Facebook. He voiced out his concerns as the innocent students were mimicking the act of smoking. He said,
“If they are used to blowing smoke as early as Standard One or Two, I am worried that they will slowly move to pick up smoking or vaping soon.”
Fadli also highlighted that these candies could be bought online at a price as low as RM10 for 30 packets — a very affordable and accessible purchase for school students these days. Some reported that this exact candy is being sold in schools as early as three years ago.

Should we be worried that these candies will somehow act as a gateway ‘drug’ that might potentially lead kids to pick up something worse in the future?
Or are they just candies and nothing more? Share with us your thoughts in the comments section below.
