Some influencers “display” their lavish lifestyles on social media with fancy cars, constant partying at the club, or even sharing fancy food for their meals via their social media. A local influencer had a Q&A session last night (March 5) on her Instagram, and she took the opportunity to answer a question from one of her followers.
“How did you earn your first pot of gold?”
The influencer, Gatita Yan explained the common mistakes that many people make while trying to be rich – aiming too far and too high, and it proves to be too overwhelming for them, they’ll give up just like that.
“1 to 3 years later, when you can’t reach the figure you have in mind despite your hard work, you’ll give up after you get tired.”
Gatita then said that before she earned her “first pot of gold,” she started low by aiming for a small figure – RM100,000.
“After I reached RM100K, I aim higher. From RM500K and all the way to millions,” Gatita said.
Mindset, social circle, and not caring about what others have to say
Is aiming low the only step you can take? According to Gatita, that is only part of the key to being successful and achieving your dreams. Aside from setting a goal, she added that your mindset, social circle, bravery, and strengths also play an important role in determining your future.
Most of all, Gatita highlighted that there is 1 more thing that you have to do – ignore what others have to say about what you’re doing.
“If you care alot, you really have to eliminate this bad habit.”
She also explained that the more we care about the “noises” from others, the more unlikely it is for us to make it to where we aspire to be.
In the following IG story, Gatita admitted that she doesn’t think of herself as someone rich. She revealed that like many people, she climbed her way up from the days when she earned RM700 – RM1,500 per month.
“I worked at a phone shop for 9 years, where I received RM1,500 every month for almost a decade.”
Gatita urged everyone to have dreams and persuaded them to go out and explore the world, where many chances wait for those who work hard.
Aiming for RM100,000 as a starting point may be huge for many people, but do you think Gatita’s tips work?
