ASCARO, the upscale padel brand in Malaysia, hosted an impressive celebration in honour of International Women’s Day on March 9. The event at ASCARO offered an afternoon of Padel games, empowerment talks, live music, and exciting raffle prizes totalling up to RM20,000.
The occasion not only celebrated women but also welcomed everyone who was eager to enjoy a weekend of Padel, socialising, and networking. Proceeds from ticket sales were generously contributed to support the Nicol David Organization, which empowers youth through sports and education.
“Sport changed my life and now I want to give these opportunities back to children in hopes that someday they can dream big just like I did, and transform their lives through the empowerment of sport and education.” Datuk Nicol David.
Further elevating the celebration, ASCARO has acknowledged redONE Mobile as the official telecommunications partner and event’s main presenter. Contributing to the success of the event were Dunlopillo, Maison Fakhari, LVLY, and JD Sports. ASCARO also expressed gratitude to year-long partners Volvo (court partner), One & Only, and Directors Think Tank.
Ameen Amaendran, Chief Executive Officer, redONE Mobile conveyed his enthusiasm for the partnership, stating, “redONE Mobile stands united in our commitment to empowering and elevating sports in Malaysia. Today, as we celebrate International Women’s Day, let us reflect on the incredible achievements of women in sports. Together, we can break barriers, shatter stereotypes, and create a future where every woman has the opportunity to excel and inspire, on and off the field. By fostering connectivity and collaboration to support the Nicol David Organisation, we strive to empower our youth. Investing in their future is investing in a brighter tomorrow for all. Happy International Women’s Day.”
The event kicked off with the arrival of VIP guests, delighting them with entertainment from local flautist, Fahani. The performances and speeches from prominent figures, such as Datuk Yvonne Chia, a renowed business woman and the first female bank CEO in Malaysia, set the tone for an inspiring day ahead, not to forget the performance from the local band Jazper & The Fellas who kept everyone lively during the night.
Afterwards, the event opened to the public for registration, leading to more performances, a women’s friendly tournament, and networking. The winning team earned the opportunity to play with Nicol David herself and Mariana De Reyes, CEO of Nicol David Organisation. An exhibition match featuring Padel Pro Players and Coaches capped off the evening, followed by multiple raffle draws. DJ LZZY and DJ Dora kept the party going late into the night by spinning crowd-favourite tunes, and ensured the dance floor was always buzzing with energy.
In addition to the day’s festivities, attendees are encouraged to watch out for ASCARO’s upcoming events throughout the year. The ASCARO team has a calendar packed with exciting events and invites everyone to follow them on Instagram or download the app via the App Store or Google Play to stay updated on the latest happenings.
