Most delivery services have always offered services to make delivery payments through their application.
But what if a delivery rider were to tell you that the payment was not made?
Local influencer, Ceddy, recently took to his Twitter page to share an incident with a delivery rider that left him disappointed. The delivery rider, who was delivering medicine for Ceddy’s pets from his veterinary clinic, had claimed that the payment was not made, when it was.
He wrote, “Yesterday (May 12 – Friday), there was drama with this (delivery) rider. I asked my vet to send my pets’ medications to my office, when my staff went to collect from the rider, he said the sender (the vet) had not paid so we have to pay him or else he won’t give us the medication. So BRAVE!”
“My staff just paid because she was also scared.”
After getting paid for the second time (as payment had already been made through the app), the rider then attempted to scam the vet.
“This isn’t over yet. He then u-turned back to my vet and said ‘the recipient (my side) doesn’t want to pay so the vet has to pay‘. Even though, there was proof that the sender has paid through the app.”
“When I heard about this, I immediately made a report to (the delivery service) (I clicked the link in the SMS to report, not because I am an influencer or what). Today, his account got suspended and he was begging the vet to un-report him and even transferred the money back,” Ceddy added.
Ceddy chose to allow the rider to endure his punishment, not because he is not compassionate but due to the rider’s wrongdoings
“First of all, it’s not like I don’t want to pity him, he can make threats like ‘oh, if you don’t want to pay I won’t give the pills’ to my staff. Then, he is using someone else’s IC because the name belongs to a woman but he is a dude, and if I report ONE time and he’s been suspended, this means that the person’s record isn’t very good.”
“So, be careful with some of these riders and stand your ground.”
We genuinely hope that the rider learned his lesson of not to scam his customers and to make an honest living.
