The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) is wasting no time with their investigations, and now that they are done questioning our former prime minister and his daughter, they have moved on to his wife, Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, who just showed up to the anti-graft agency’s Putrajaya headquarters moments ago (5th June).

Rosmah, along with her husband, is being questioned as part of the MACC’s investigations into 1MDB’s former subsidiary company, SRC International, which allegedly transferred RM42 million to Najib Razak’s personal account.
This investigation is just a small part of the larger 1MDB scandal investigations. A special task force has also since been formed to look into the scandal, and they have also recently met with the United States’ Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Department of Justice (DoJ) as part of investigations.
According to the Malay Mail, press began to gather at the MACC headquarters as early as 9am this morning, waiting for the former first lady’s arrival, and security was reportedly more strict, conducting body checks on reporters at the scene.

In the midst of the media frenzy, one surprising person decided to show up and give some love to Rosmah.
Famed cartoonist, Zunar, was also at the agency’s headquarters, donning a T-shirt which says “I Love Rosmah” . He had also brought a copy of his book, “Ketawa Pink Pink”, a collection of cartoons he said was inspired by the former prime minister’s wife, and intended to gift it to her. However, he was barred from entering the area because he had no press pass, according to Free Malaysia Today.

“I came to show my support for her. Unfortunately, it looks like I am alone in this,” the cartoonist told the daily.
Zunar is known for his politically-motivated cartoons, and was even barred from leaving the country at one point as his drawings were deemed “detrimental to public order”. Despite his harsh criticism of the former government, the cartoonist actually praised the former prime minister’s wife after the events of GE14, calling her the true leader of reforms in the country, saying,
“It is because of her that people opened their eyes. If not for the diamond ring and the Birkins, it would be difficult to convince people about the issue of corruption.”
Well, let’s hope our former first lady gives her full cooperation to aid with investigations!
