Most of us have fond memories of at least 1 teacher we had growing up who was always supportive and caring towards our progress as students.
The same could be said for a special needs student at a school in Desa Petaling. In a 15 second TikTok video posted 5 days ago by the student’s mother, a teacher can be seen ushering the student with an umbrella from the car to the school’s entrance.
The mother wrote that the teacher is so kind for rushing to fetch students in the rain from their parents’ cars at 6:30am. Clearly the teacher was concerned of the students safety and wanted the ease the process of parents dropping off their children, perhaps to avoid traffic congestion at the school’s entrance.
Speaking to WORLD OF BUZZ, the mother, Mrs Aziella said that the teacher’s name is Mr Mahendran and is in charge of the students community affairs at her son’s school.
She said that Mr Mahendran is a “helpful teacher and is caring to many other students as well”. She adds on that the special education teachers at her son’s school are also good at teaching.
Mrs Aziella said that because her son is autistic, the school allows parents of special needs students to drop their kids off inside the school compound but “after observing Mr Mahendran’s watchful eye on all the moving cars, I felt confident to let him usher my son into school”.
When asked by WORLD OF BUZZ if she had any other messages she’d like for us to share, she said that “autism awareness is more widespread now… so we as parents of special children do not need to feel down about our child’s condition. After all, now there are many facilities for children with special needs”.
Cikgu Mahendran is extremely kind
Mrs Aziella’s TikTok currently has over 129k likes and over 2600 comments! Even more surprising, students of Mr Mahendran took to the comment section of the TikTok video to gush over how great of a teacher he is.

“Teacher Mahendran is in deed an extremely kind teacher..when he used to teach at SK Sungai Besi, all the students loved him.”
“Teacher Mahendran is the best, he used to be the Senior Assistant Teacher of Student Affairs at SK Sungai Besi, my child’s school.. he helped with a lot of things, he is indeed honourable.”
