The drive-through concept isn’t unfamiliar to us as we often ‘drive through’ our favourite fast-food restaurants and coffee chains to grab a quick bite.
However, it seems that you can now also get your health care and beauty care products via drive-through!
Recently, TikTok user @ftn.khuzaifah took to the app to share her experience purchasing products from Watsons Malaysia via a drive-through.
According to the video, the Watsons Malaysia outlet is located at Taman Daya, Johor Baru and is the brand’s first stand-alone store with a drive-through service.
Not exactly new
The store, which opened in May 2022, spans approximately 4,865sq ft and provides customers with seamless shopping from one channel to the other.
Following the demand for convenience and hassle-free shopping, the drive-through concept store allows customers to purchase via the Watsons app and use the Click & Collect Express service to collect items within four hours from the drive-through counter.
Malaysians are shocked at its existence
Although it isn’t exactly new, Malaysians were shocked and amazed to discover that such a concept exists in the country. The TikTok video has gone viral and has amassed over 1.4 million views at the time of writing.
Netizens shared how eager they were to visit the store whilst some made jokes about how it would work.
“How does a Watsons drive through work? Do I have to ask, ‘can you get me the Maybelline lip matte code etc.’ like that,” asked a netizen.
Meanwhile, a few users pointed out that this would be more time-efficient than entering a Watsons store normally, where you’d spend hours browsing through all of their products.
“Fathers no longer need to wait for their wives and daughters to come out.”
“Wow, will this mean that we can save time? Normally places like this, if you don’t spend 5 to 6 hours inside, it’s not right,” said another jokingly.
