The Bukit Jalil National Stadium vaccination centre (PPV) will begin operations tomorrow (21 June 2021). According to the Minister of Youth and Sports Datuk Seri Reezal Merican Naina Merican, this mega vaccination centre is expected to reach the capacity of 10,000 per day, focusing on giving vaccines to those aged 40 and below.

In line with the National Recovery Plan announced by the YAB Prime Minister, the entire stadium has been transformed into a vaccination centre. “This large-scale vaccination centre will enable more people to get their vaccine doses, especially those around Klang Valley,” he said in his Facebook posting.

“This is part of the Ministry of Youth and Sports’ efforts to successfully help in the initiative led by YB Khairy Jamaluddin and MOSTI as well as the MOH in the National COVID-19 Immunization Program through the optimal use of facilities,” he added. Earlier on 7 June, the Axiata Arena Indoor Stadium has also been transformed into another vaccination centre.

He also expressed gratitude to the staff who helped set up the Bukit Jalil National Stadium vaccination centre. “I can see the dedication of the medical and non-medical frontliners in ensuring the comfort of people who will be visiting to get their vaccine dose,” he said.

Datuk Seri Reezal Merican also urges netizens to register for vaccination as well as check their MySejahtera application frequently for updates. Those who are aged 40 years old or below, do check your MySejahtera app to see if there is a vaccination appointment given already.

Meanwhile, since the MyVac (Malaysia Vaccine Support Volunteer) registration opened in March, there are a total of 80,000 individuals registered so far.
