Good news, motorists! Based on the tabling of Budget 2020 today (October 11th) by Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng, he has announced that there will be a toll discount starting 2020. Lim said that this discount will start in 2020 and according to the ministry’s estimation, it is expected that motorists who use this highway will save up to RM1.13 billion in 2020 alone. Meanwhile, this discount is expected to save RM43 billion over the entire concession period until 2038.

He added that the government will take over four major highways in Klang Valley, which includes Shah Alam Expressway (KESAS), Damansara-Puchong Expressway (LDP), SPRINT Expressway and the SMART Tunnel (SMART).

Meanwhile, for non-peak hours, it will be free for highway users – which means drivers can save up to RM180 million a year. For those travelling to Penang, they will be glad to know that the toll bridges will be reduced from RM8.50 to RM7.
