THIS IS NOT A DRILL!

Microsoft is currently experiencing a major service outage that’s affecting worldwide users but that’s not the worst thing. The Straits Times reported that international flights are experiencing major delays and cancelled flights. Singapore’s Changi Airport & Malaysia’s KLIA are also affected, with long queues taking over the counters as guests have to manually check-in.

Airports in the USA and Australia are also experiencing major delays at the time of writing (July 19). A likely cause of the Microsoft outage is said to be Crowdstrike’s recent update of its Falcon sensor, according to the Wall Street Journal.

On the other hand, users around the world are also experiencing the familiar “blue death screen,” known as the Blue Screen of Death (BSOD).

NDTV World also reported that the error is being caused due to a recent CrowdStrike update.

In a quick statement on X, Microsoft said it was investigating an issue impacting various Microsoft 365 apps and services.

In a live CNN update, it was also reported that the live news in the UK was unable to broadcast due to the breakdown, and the network’s executive chairman David Rhodes apologized to viewers for the interruption.

To those who are working and heavily reliant on computers, are you experiencing difficulties? Stay tuned for more updates!
