The rally took place on the eve of the Republican National Convention. It is being investigated as a possible assassination attempt, and the live rounds were fired from outside the security perimeter.

The Texas Tribune reported that the first 3 shots missed Trump, and he was turned looking towards the back, and then the one grazed his ear, and then he got down.

US President Joe Biden has since responded to the attempted assassination, saying,

“There’s no place for this kind of violence in America.”
