What a tragic loss!
In a report by CNN, world renowned celebrity chef and television host Anthony Bourdain was found dead in his hotel room in France earlier on Friday (8th June), and it has been confirmed that his death has been ruled a suicide.
Bourdain was reportedly in France working on an episode of his CNN series, “Parts Unknown”.
“It is with extraordinary sadness we can confirm the death of our friend and colleague, Anthony Bourdain,” CNN said in a statement.
“His love of great adventure, new friends, fine food and drink and the remarkable stories of the world made him a unique storyteller. His talents never ceased to amaze us and we will miss him very much. Our thoughts and prayers are with his daughter and family at this incredibly difficult time.”
Bourdain captivated international audiences with his renowned TV series, “No Reservations”, in which he showcased the diverse lifestyles, culture, and food from all over the world, and had even featured Malaysia in an episode.
He had even dined on some delicious Vietnamese food with former U.S. President Barack Obama in Hanoi.
The celebrity chef’s death comes within the same week of acclaimed designer Kate Spade’s tragic suicide. Our condolences go out to both of their families and loved ones over this tragic and untimely loss.
