Two more deaths were recorded today adding the COVID-19 related death toll to 10 as of 22nd March 2020.
Announced by Director General of Health Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah, via the Ministry of Health Facebook page this afternoon, the 9th patient that passed away earlier today was a 48-year-old with a history of travelling to Turkey.
The patient, who was a male doctor registered under the ministry, was the first COVID-19 death case among healthcare professionals, and his cause of death was categorized under having a travel history overseas.
The 10th patient that passed away was a male individual aged 74-year-old believe to be a member of the Tabligh cluster.
In the Facebook update, the 74-year-old man was admitted to the Pulau Pinang Hospital on the 13th of March 2020, and was pronounced dead at 4.05 pm.
