The political climate in our country over the past two General Elections (GE) or so has seemingly reached a boiling point that most Malaysians are beginning to get tired of our politicians’ constant quarrels.

However, with the establishment of the Unity Government consisting of former foes working together, we are reminded that our similarities far outweigh our differences.

Parlimen

Recently, a post by the Member of Parliament (MP) for Pasir Mas Ahmad Fadhli Shaari warms Malaysians’ hearts and further shows that beyond politics, we are all human beings that could sit together and be friends.

The post, which has garnered over 2,000 likes and more than 360 comments as of the time of writing shows the Opposition MP sitting together having breakfast with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim at the MPs’ cafe in Parliament.

In the post, the PAS MP shared that while he was having breakfast, Anwar suddenly came and sit beside him.

They both then talked and reminisce about the old days, with Fadhli asserting that Anwar is still like how he was previously despite now being Prime Minister.

At the end of the post, the Pasir Mas MP asserted the irony of how they are both good friends outside of the Dewan Rakyat but once inside, they are in a constant battle mode. The post also shared a selfie of the two.

In the comments section, many netizens praised both individuals for being big-hearted and not letting their political ideologies get in the way of a friendship.

One commenter simply asserted that both Fadhli and Anwar are the best for their exemplary demeanours. Meanwhile, one netizen praised Anwar for being humble despite his position as the country’s top leader.
