Ben & Jerry’s has closed their only outlet in Malaysia at Sunway Pyramid for good after slightly more than one year of operating.
In a Facebook post on 17 December, the US ice cream chain wrote that they will be transitioning out of Malaysia after facing some challenges during the pandemic.
“After careful consideration of our business and the challenges of operating in the country during a global pandemic, we regret to confirm our decision to transition out of Malaysia,” the post said.
“We want to thank our beloved fans, to anyone who’s ever enjoyed our products, visited our Scoop Shop and took part in any of our activities in Kuala Lumpur.”
“Lastly, we want to thank our employees and partners who have helped made our journey fun, memorable and meaningful.”

When Ben & Jerry’s first opened on 2 September 2019, they greeted Malaysians with 10,000 free scoops to commemorate their launch.
Some of their best sellers include, Cherry Garcia, Chocolate Fudge Brownie, Chunky Monkey, New York Super Fudge Chunk, Triple Caramel Chunk and Tonight Dough.
Netizens were devastated upon hearing the news, with many saying that they have gone too soon.
