With the Johor election coming closer and closer, many politicians have been going to the state to talk to the people there.
The same goes for Bersatu Supreme Council member Azmin Ali who attended a Chinese New Year dinner with representatives of Johor’s small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) on 6 February.
According to BERNAMA, he has said that the people of Johor should take into account the Perikatan Nasional government’s track record of handling the pandemic.
The minister mentioned that their success was to get recognised globally as “the best government in managing Covid-19 recovery efforts”.
“Within a short period, the country was facing a health and economic crisis, but under the leadership of Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, PN successfully brought the country out of this crisis.”
He elaborated by saying that the Nikkei Covid-19 Recovery Index ranked Malaysia 13th compared to 115th last year.
“We need to continue this success and I leave it to the rakyat to make the right decision in the Johor state elections.”
The Johor state assembly was dissolved on 22 January and the election is still unknown. However, it will most probably be announced on 9 February after the Election Commission’s meeting.
