The wait for Khairul Aming’s Rembayung will soon be over.
Last night (2 January), the celebrity chef announced that the long-awaited Rembayung in Kampung Baru, Kuala Lumpur, will officially open its doors on 6 January. For now, the restaurant will only accept reservations. In his announcement video, Khairul also revealed that there will be no VIP rooms on the premises, as everyone will dine together in the same space.

As previously mentioned, Khairul aims to elevate local Malay dishes and introduce them to tourists. While many already have an idea of the restaurant’s menu, social media users were pleasantly surprised to learn what Rembayung has in store for the little ones.
Set Ayam Kicap Si Kecil
Khairul seems to know exactly how to make a simple, healthy meal appealing to kids.

In one of his Threads posts, Khairul unveiled two kids’ meal sets: Set Ayam Kicap Si Kecil and Set Sup Ayam Si Kecil. Both sets come with fresh vegetables and cut fruits, making the meals simple, tasty, and nutritious.
“This is for the kids. I’m worried if you’re going to get this as a 30-year-old,” Khairul joked in his post.
The meals are served in plates and bowls shaped like adorable sea creatures, adding a fun touch for children.
No nuggets, no fries!
Social media users praised Khairul’s thoughtful move to prepare proper, healthy meals for kids, without the usual fast-food staples like nuggets and fries.

The reservation system will be announced soon, so stay tuned to Khairul Aming’s social media for more details!
