Mention Genting Highlands and you can be sure that the locals have heard of it while tourists from near and far flock to this eclectic highland attraction.
The brainchild of the late Tan Sri Lim Goh Tong, he dreamed of building a hill resort after his experience in Cameron Highlands back in 1964. This hilltop “City of Entertainment”is known as the only legal land casino in Malaysia, with an upcoming Twentieth Century Fox World theme park plus food and shopping galore.
However, one of the more interesting new revamps is the construction of the new Awana Skyway.
And one major change that got everybody buzzing is their glass-floored gondolas! Yes, that means you’ll be able to see right through the bottom!
From the first station, Awana Station to the top which is SkyAvenue Station located near First World Hotel, the travel time is a mere 10 minutes.
The new Awana Skyway spans a length of 2.8km and has 99 standard gondolas which can carry up to 10 passengers.
If you want a more exciting experience, try out one of their 10 new glass-bottomed gondolas which can accommodate as many as six passengers for the ride of your life!
This allows you to admire the jaw-dropping view of the 130-million-year-old rainforest below. Can’t wait to try out one of these glass-bottomed gondolas for a super thrilling experience!

The upgraded cable car system can reach a top speed of 6 metres per second and can transport up to 3,000 passengers one way per hour.
Enjoy the cool, fresh mountain air in the gondolas with the new windows that allow more wind to enter for an even more awesome experience. The cable cars are taller too, now standing at a height of 2.1 metres instead of the previous 1.6 metres high.
