Auto Cluster: 49 More Staff From Proton HQ In Shah Alam Test Positive For Covid-19

49 more Proton employees at the company’s headquarters have tested positive for Covid-19 after its first case was detected on 14 October, according to Astro Awani.

In a statement released by Proton, all the employees who tested positive for the virus are from the engineering division and their cases have been reported to the authorities. As of now, all employees who do not need to be present at the Proton factory located in Shah Alam have been instructed to work from home.

“Contact tracing is underway and the Covid-19 special team will monitor the latest situation in detail,” it said.

“The company will continue to follow the recommended eradication measures while taking stricter action to reduce the spread of this epidemic.”

The statement also says that the company will continue to follow all strictly recommended guidelines and procedures as pracitised since the Covid-19 outbreak.

“The Center of Service Excellence (COSE) and showroom are disinfected hourly and all customer facing personnel follow a rigorous procedure.”

“Proton is working with the authorities who have guided the company through the process and are satisfied with the actions taken thus far.”

All cases connected to the Proton HQ have been categorised under the Auto Cluster which now has a total of 50 cases as of 19 October.
