PDRM has confirmed that the arrested 4WD pickup truck driver involved in the hit-and-run on the NKVE highway was NOT the owner of the vehicle.

On Saturday (May 10), a married couple riding on a motorcycle were rushed to the hospital after they were hit by the suspect, who suddenly merged onto the left lane on his 4WD pickup truck. The 49-year-old pillion rider of the motorcycle is currently receiving treatment in the ICU after sustaining severe injuries to the head, with a broken ankle and fractured ribs.

Head of the Kuala Lumpur Traffic Investigation and Strengthening Department (JSPT), Assistant Commissioner Mohd Zamzuri Mohd Isa, also said the police are still investigating whether the driver was racing with his friends during the accident.

In a brief statement, Zamzuri said that the investigation paper would be referred to the Chief Prosecutor soon after the process of remanding the suspect was carried out today (May 12).
