DAP Socialist Youth (DAPSY) Chief Woo Kah Leong has demanded that PAS Selangor Youth issue a public apology to him on its various social media accounts or face legal action over a statement the latter made recently.

This is after PAS Selangor Youth called Woo “rude” and claimed he had insulted PAS spiritual leader Dato’ Hashim Jasin in a social media post.

DAPSY Chief posted an edited photo of PAS spiritual leader lying on a bed

The social media post in question by Woo attached a poster with an edited photo of Hashim Jasin lying on a bed with a pack of Gardenia bread. Furthermore, an overlaid headline on the poster reads, “PAS is daydreaming”.

The post by Woo, who is also the assemblyperson (ADUN) for Pasir Bedamar, Perak, was in response to Hashim Jasin saying that PAS is ready to form the Sabah State Government with any political party except DAP and Kedah Housing, Health, and Local Government Exco Mansor Zakaria’s statement that winning over Sabah’s voters was as simple as handing out Gardenia bread.

PAS Selangor Youth called the post offensive, as Hashim Jasin was recently hospitalised

However, PAS Selangor Youth found the post to be offensive, especially considering that the PAS spiritual leader was recently hospitalised.

PAS Selangor Youth Chief Mohamed Sukri Omar was quoted by Sinar Harian as saying that Woo’s action is rude and immoral, condemning his “immature politics”.

“This is a rude and immoral action. This sort of politics is outdated, immature and letting this become our country’s culture is unwise,” Mohamed Sukri said.

He added that insulting a leader who’s currently hospitalised is over the top, and dubbed the post “shameful” and showed an “uncivilised political culture” among youth leaders.

Accordingly, on Friday (21 November), PAS Selangor, alongside Siswa PAS, sent a memorandum to the DAP office to protest the DAPSY Chief’s actions, stressing that Malaysian politics must be built on decorum, argument and responsibility instead of cheap provocation.

Woo is demanding a public apology from PAS Selangor Youth

In response to PAS Selangor Youth’s statement and memorandum, Woo expressed regret at them accusing him of using the PAS spiritual leader’s illness as political fodder.

Woo added that while PAS Selangor Youth tried to make it look as if he posted the poster after Hashim Jasin was hospitalised, the social media post was actually made 4 days before the PAS spiritual leader was admitted to the hospital.

“I wish to emphasise that this is slander as my statement was made on 15 November 2025 while the PAS spiritual leader was hospitalised on 19 November 2025, four days after the statement was made,” said the Pasir Bedamar ADUN.

Claiming that PAS Selangor Youth has slandered him, Woo gave an ultimatum,

“I demand PAS Selangor Youth retract the statement immediately and apologise publicly to me through various official social media over the statement saying that I am using the PAS spiritual leader’s illness as political fodder,”

“If the slanderous statement is not retracted, I will not hesitate to take legal action,”
