Delay doesn’t only happen to trains and buses, but if you’ve taken the flight a few times, you’ll notice that delays are somewhat inevitable too.
The recent flight delay to Kuching has caused an uproar among the affected customers, and one of them has posted a short clip on social media to reveal the situation, where the flight was delayed for 8 hours, causing the affected customers to sleep on the ground/bench under the cold temperature. The clip also revealed that none of the staff of the flight – Malindo Air was around.
The delay has gained the attention of the Minister of Transport, Anthony Loke and in his tweet last night (December 26), Anthony said that he had contacted the management of Malindo Air.
“Malindo Air will contact all affected customers and apologise to them, and will also take responsibility of the delay.”
Salam Saudara Firdaus, saya dah hubungi pengurusan @malindoair ..mereka akan hubungi semua penumpang yang terjejas untuk memohon maaf dan mengambil tanggungjawab. https://t.co/YqzWlJEgvT

Last Friday (December 23), the affected customer posted the matter on social media and tagged the minister of transport in his post to inform the latter about the absence of Malindo Air’s staff on the ground to check on the welfare of the affected customers.
The clip has since gone viral on social media, and Malaysians have not only praised Anthony Loke for his swift action, but many also urged him to look further into the matter of delays in all public transportation.
“Air Asia, you’re next!”
“Poor Malaysia, will things only work with the intervention of the ministers? LRT/MRT’s maintenance proceeded after the minister interfered, now even the low-cost airlines?”
In the meantime, other netizens urged Anthony to oversee other airlines when it comes to delays and rescheduling.
“I hope the minister is strict with all airlines in Malaysia. They’re not taking the delays and cancelations seriously. No refunds, other than travel vouchers.”
Major gratitude goes to Anthony Loke for his swift actions and hopefully, this shall serve as a reminder to ALL public transportation out there to up their game without the need of an intervention from the minister.
