Time and time again, we see the same people violating Covid-19 standard operating procedures (SOP), yet nothing is being done about it.

Netizens are enraged that former Minister of Federal Territories Tan Sri Datuk Seri Annuar Musa was seen without a mask while ordering food at a roadside stall in Kuala Lumpur.

In a tweet, Annuar Musa posted a photo of him posing for the camera without a mask. At the time of writing, the tweet appears to have been deleted. The tweet captioned,

“The best news that I’ve been looking forward to this morning. I came across a stall selling Nasi Berlauk Air Dingin near my house in KL! Not only that but there is Nasi Tumpang and kuih Lompat Tikam!”

“The seller does not have a license. Requesting DBKL not to catch them. Haha. Later no more supply.”

Netizens, however, were not interested in the food, but in the fact that he had flouted SOPs once again.

  • “The extent to which MPs openly flout the laws without any repercussions & rub the stench of double-standards on the rakyat’s faces is just simply astounding.”
  • No licence – normalise it. No mask – normalise it. This is the kind of leadership and governance this country had and perhaps is now about to have! God’s watching. That’s all I can say.”
  • Where is your mask? We ordinary people can’t do this because we will get compounded and imprisoned. Don’t you understand that part of our anger is when things happen like this? What are you trying to tell us?”
  • “He didn’t even wear a mask, then want to promote the vendors saying they have no license and told not to take action for his own benefit. You become YB for what? You have the power, why don’t you help to settle it? Or are you used to closing one eye when people break the law so that you can protect yourself?”
